Filipina marriage
Date 11-07-2013 | Views  13510

An archipelago comprising 7,107 islands, the Philippines is categorized broadly into three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Philippine wedding practice for Filipinas differs from region to region or from ethnic group to another within some region.
The following are examples of wedding practices in the Philippines:

1.The Ilocanos, Pangasinenses and Tagalogs share an interesting wedding practice like pinning of currency bills on the brides gown and the grooms suit as they dance.

2.The Aetas of Zambales: In a wedding ceremony, the couples eat from the same plate and take turns feeding each other. In their culture, a man is allowed to have more than one wife if he can accumulate enough BANDI or Bride price.

3.The Igorots of Mountain Province: Trial marriage, which means the boy at the early age live and sleep with their age mates. When a boy develops a real attachment to a girl, they will live together in a trial marriage until the girl becomes pregnant.

4.The Bataks of Palawan: They practice wedding arrangements.
5.The Muslims of Mindanao: Pre-arranged marriage.

Filipina marriage values the solemnity of the wedding ceremony as it does not matter if the wedding is held at garden, in a beach or in church as long as Filipino customs and tradition are practiced.

But there are some women from other country dont value marriage that much, especially western women because of their attitude of being set in their own ways and so independent. Which is opposite for Filipina marriage.

One reason why foreigners ask for the hand of a Filipina for marriage is because divorce is not practiced in the Philippines. In the Philippines the family is a core social unit especially for the Filipino wife since Filipinas are brought up to be family oriented.

They believe that divorce is not a solution to any matrimonial problems and that couple has the obligation to solve and fix the problems within the boundaries of marriage. Couples are also in an extraordinary relationship if they treat one another not only as wife and husband but also as best friend.

Philippine cultures help a lot in building a good relationship towards each other.
Other foreign men are tired and sick of the western women who are set in their own ways and so independent.

Thats why they pick and choose Filipinas marriage because they want to make a difference in their lives. You can see the spark of love and happiness in their eyes. And living a life with contentment and over flowing joy.
